When your server and personal details have been set-up you can connect to a server: Choose Open connection from the File menu. Ircle will attempt to connect to the server you specified and you will see the progress information in the Console window (the one with your nickname in the title bar)

When communications are established, you will see the welcome message and message-of-the-day from the server in the Console window window. You are now ready to join a channel If your connection was refused, try to open the connection again. IRC servers tend to be very busy, but there's a good chance of getting a connection if you persist. You can choose another server if you get too many refusals.
