IRC 'Bots and scripts are the user's way of automating certain tasks on an IRC channel. I admit to not ever having used, or wished to use, bots at all. A lot of servers even expressly forbid their use as they can hog bandwidth and cause all sorts of mayhem - however innocently.

Quite a few people have mailed me concerning the availability of these entities for Macintosh clients, and therefore, to ease my mailbox, here is a list of sites you may wish to avoid visit to find out more about the use of 'bots and which clients will support them.
